March
Science:
We concluded our sound unit with building sound catchers. This month we focus on rocks and will discover why a fossil bed was found in Nebraska as well as the nature of volcanos. Our adventure will conclude with an in school workshop with Discovery Cube on March 20th.
Religion:
Students are learning about the Paschal Mystery and it comes at an appropriate time as this. We will also participate in the Stations of the Cross every thursday. 4th graders will lead the stations on March 21st.
Social studies:
As we work on our written missions project, we are learning about Mexico becoming independent and how that led to the end of the missions.
Language Arts:
We completed our "Because of Winn Dixie" reading unit and have now ventured into "The One and Only Ivan". Students are learning how to use inferences, understanding how characters change over time, using text evidence to support their answer, as well as learning more than 30 volcabulary words. This unit will conclude right after break.
Art:
In class students are working on multiplication art. With the art teacher students are drawing with oil pastels.
Math:
We are still focusing in multiplication and will move into division by the end of the month.
