My name is Teashia Lopez and I have been teaching for the Diocese of San Bernardino for 36 years. One of the highlights of my life is being blessed to have taught Kindergarten for 23 years in the Catholic school I attended when I was younger. My class motto is, "Don't be afraid to make mistakes; we learn from them."
Happy March! We are now in the season of Lent, where we are asked to reflect upon our faith, values, and wrongdoings. We ask God for forgiveness and renewal in our lives. Our students will be participating in Stations of the Cross every Thursday at 8:15 in the Church.
What we are learning:
Religion: In religion, students will be introduced to the mission of prophets sent to remind people to be faithful. Students will also learn to connect God's gift of manna from Heaven with God's gift of Jesus in the Eucharist. We will also learn about the life of St. Patrick.
Language Arts: We are learning about articles and how they are used in writing. We will learn about proper nouns. We will also continue to work on reading, comprehension, and fluency skills.
Math: We will continue to learn about place value and estimation.
Science: We will learn about the differences in daytime and nighttime.
Social Studies: We will learn about American symbols and what they represent.
I encourage you to stay informed, involved, and connected to our class, as well as the school. Open communication, teamwork, and a dedication to continuous improvement will continue to make this a rewarding year for our children.
