I am writing to you today regarding a Diocese of San Bernardino update on COVID-19. The Diocese of San Bernardino has determined that proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of our school community members by joining the SBCUSD to minimize the spread of COVID-19. As such, St. Adelaide Academy, will be closing all school buildings beginning March 16, 2020. Return date is still to be determined.
It is important that St. Adelaide Academy children continue to receive quality academic content during this time. We will be implementing the Distance Learning Protocol in order to maintain academic progress for students.
We are asking that all school children make arrangements to pick up all school books and necessary resources from school on March 17 or March 18. We appreciate your support making sure that children have the necessary materials at home to continue the learning progression.
Please know that the health and safety of our schools is paramount to the Diocese of San Bernardino. We look forward to partnering with your family in this amended protocol for the coming weeks. Please expect to hear from me weekly with updates and to continue opportunities for communication. During this time, we recommend practicing social distancing with the goal of reducing the occasions where numbers of people come together and potentially are exposed to the virus that is circulating in the community.
Many thanks in advance for your understanding. We pray for our community members to remain healthy and well during this pandemic time.
Gratefully,
Mrs. Barbara Malouf Gustafson Principal
